What to Ask, by Symptom
Common problems and the request to send Claude for each, grouped by symptom.
Replace the parts in 【 】 before you send a request. The basics of reporting a problem are in When Something Goes Wrong.
When you report a bug found in production in a new conversation, add this sentence to the end of the request.
To fix it, create a new branch from main, confirm that the build passes, then create a pull request to main and give me the PR URL.
A blank screen or an error
If a message is shown on screen, paste all of it exactly as shown. If there is no message, paste a screenshot.
A broken layout
Text overlaps, a button runs off the edge, or the screen is hard to use on a phone. A screenshot makes this exact.
Wrong totals, order, or dates
No error appears, but the result is wrong. Write the actual numbers and dates.
Data that should be there is missing
If data you registered seems to have disappeared from production or to have been changed, tell an administrator before you ask Claude.
It breaks under unusual use
It breaks when someone saves with nothing entered, enters a very long text, or presses a button twice in a row. You can also have Claude inspect a screen before anything breaks.
A check on the PR is red
Ask in the same conversation that created the PR. Claude can look up what failed by itself.
The failure is in a change to the database structure. Before having Claude fix it, give an administrator the PR URL and Claude's explanation, and agree on how to proceed.
Claude cannot open the screen
| What happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| The first time, it takes a few minutes | A trial database is being fetched. Just wait. From the second time on it opens in seconds |
| Claude says it "cannot start" or "cannot open" the app | In the same conversation, send "Find out why it does not open locally, and fix it" |
| The screen opens, but the data shown is all dated long ago | Send "Please recreate the test data" |
| A screen for email or files says "not set up" | This is not a bug. Features that use outside services are checked in a preview (Check the Screen) |
The preview will not open
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The comment says "No preview environment was made." | A preview is made only when you ask. In the same conversation, send Claude "Please create a preview" |
| It still says "The preview environment is being made" after more than 30 minutes | Send Claude "The preview is not finishing. Find out why" |
| "deploy unsuccessful" | Send Claude "The preview deploy failed. Find the cause and fix it" |
| "deployed, but the URL did not answer yet" | Wait a few minutes and open it again. If it continues, tell an administrator |
| "Access denied" | Ask an administrator to let you open the app |
| You cannot sign in | Ask an administrator to let you sign in to previews as well |
An error in production
You can hand the production app's records, its logs, to Claude from the App Portal.
- Open the App Portal and press "Logs" on the app's card.
- Choose the "Errors" tab.
- Press "Copy for Claude Code".
- Paste it as it is into a new Claude Code conversation with the
algoritmi-sandbox-vibe-coding-platformfolder selected, and send it.
The copied text already contains the request to Claude and clues for the investigation, so you do not need to add anything.
"Logs" is shown only to people who are allowed to see logs. If you do not see it, tell an administrator when it happened, on which screen, and what you did.
You want to undo a change after merging
You can take a merged change back out of production. Undoing follows the same flow: a PR, then a merge.
If colleagues cannot work, or if data is involved, tell an administrator at the same time as you ask for the undo.
Claude says Git has no name or email address set
The first time a change is recorded, Claude's work can stop because Git has no name and email address set. If Claude asks for a name or an address, you do not need to answer yourself. Send this request in the same conversation.
This setting is needed only once per computer.
Claude says it has no permission or needs to log in
The login to GitHub may have expired.
If Claude says the same thing after you log in again, ask an administrator whether you have permission to use the repository.
Quiz
